Esbe, a prolific and versatile composer, presents her new album 'I Might Be Dreaming'. She is a multi-faceted award winning musician, singer, and producer who is always developing and seeking new approaches to both song writing and production. Esbe's love of such classic arrangers as Burt Bacharach and Paul Simon can be glimpsed in her experienced use of orchestral strings and brass, combined with a broad palette of found and sampled sounds.
Having worked with musicians from India and North Africa, and with Eastern European roots, Esbe embraces many musical influences on previous albums. With glimpses of pioneers Portishead and Bjork, 'I Might Be Dreaming' has stylishly settled in a genre of electronica ambient alt-rock.
Writing and producing from her London studio, Esbe has the luxury of being able to create without outside influence and can be taken wherever the muse leads her. 'I Might Be Dreaming' is a collection of songs written within dreams. Each one unfolds - a beguiling story, a fear, an aspiration - in the still of the night when we relinquish our hold on the day. Although very personal, her songs are universal - the soul is laid bare. And Esbe doesn't shy away from difficult subjects - loves lost, aspirations, fears for our planet in peril - the brain races from one to another. However, despite the emotional turmoil, she concludes that we are ultimately optimistic souls, always believing the future will fulfil our dreams.
