Under the collective guise as The Ivy League, they became the backbone of the British pop chart, working with Mike Leander, Ivor Raymonde, Les Reed and Shel Talmy, and penning hits for The Fortunes and the Rockin Berries. They amassed a flurry of chart hits with Funny How Love Can Be, Tossing And Turning and My World Fell Down before a split in the camp took Carter and Lewis away to enjoy success as the Flower Pot Men in 1967.
