Alice Cooper is one of the all-time most resilient rock stars, surviving not only a serious battle with addiction but myriad changes in the musical landscape. Even when the shock-rocker went new wave, starting with the 1980 album Flush the Fashion, he still found success. Taken from the first date of the promotional tour in June 1980, in Texas, many songs were performed here for the first time in front of a live audience and broadcast live over FM radio. Here, at the start of his ‘blackout’ period, it’s still easy to see why this dynamic performer has forged such a celebrated and enduring legacy and remained hugely influential for so long!
Timeline revisits this milestone concert of Cooper’s incredible career, captured live at El Paso County Coliseum, Texas for the ‘Supergroups In Concert Series’, broadcast by the ABC Network on June 4th 1980. Fully restored and professionally remastered original radio broadcast, presented with background notes and timeline photos.
