Television produced just two studio albums before their implosion and much of their reputation rested on their ferocious live performances in small venues. In 1978, with bassist Fred Smith and drummer Billy Ficca keeping things solid, the twin guitars of Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd were taking rock improvisation to new altitudes. The New York downtown scene produced some great bands but none greater or more innovative than Verlaine's Television.
Performed at the legendary 'My Father’s Place' club at the height of their considerable powers, on June 9th in Roslyn, New York, for broadcast by WLIR-FM.
Tom Verlaine - guitar & vocals; Richard Lloyd - guitar; Fred Smith - bass; Billy Ficca - drums.
