The American guitarist and composer Lenny Kaye, best known for his work with Patti Smith and Her Band, has announced details of his new live album for Johnny Depp’s IN.2 Records. The album which is billed as Lenny Kaye and Friends: Riot in Oxford Street was recorded at 100 Club on 4th and 5th April 2024 and has been executive produced by Joe Delorenzo, the man who put both nights together. The recording features Lenny Kaye, Jim Jones, the Damned’s Rat Scabies, Marty Love (Wingmen/ Johnny Moped) on drums, Dave Tregunna (Sham 69/Lords of the New Church), Greg Rice on keyboards, plus Clive Jackson (Dr and the Medics) and Alan Clayton (Dirty Strangers) as guest vocalists, and the last ever performance from The Damned’s Brian James, performing MC5’s Kick Out The Jams. The album will be released on October 2nd, to celebrate the 54th anniversary of the ground-breaking Nuggets: Original Artyfacts from the First Psychedelic Era, widely regarded to be the best compilation album of all time.
